SADDLE CLUB Questions????? Contact us- Adult leaders Mary Brookins 202-1140 Rhonda Andrews 534-2768(note change) Chairperson Charity Boyd- 533-0115 Website: www.ec4hsc.com
Show Committee: This meeting is for anyone wanting input on our show schedule or clinics. Bryant and Michelle Hart have volunteered to head this committee for us this year, so bring your ideas to this meeting. We will be planning the classes for each of the show dates.
Indiana 4-H Horse of the Year 2010: Attached you will find the form for the Indiana 4-H Horse of the Year, please read about it and if you would like your horse to be nominated send all the needed material to Rhonda Andrews 702 E. Kercher Rd, Goshen In. 46526, by Nov. 1, 2009 to be submitted to the Advisory Board for selection. If you have any questions contact Mary or Rhonda.
Fun Events: We will not be rescheduling the Family Fun Show, however we are planning a Fall Party for Oct. 24th at Bonneyville Mills. We will be at the pavilion across from the Mill 5:30-9pm We will have a hayride, scavenger hunt, and other activities for the family. Last names starting with A-H please bring a bag of wrapped candy, I-S please bring donuts, T-Z please bring Cider or Hot Chocolate.
We are also planning an event for Dec. 12th, for roller skating. This will be a white elephant exchange again as we seemed to have fun at the last party. If you don't know what this is, it can be a "gag gift" or something you have around the house that you no longer want. You do not have to go buy anything. We will number the gifts and then everyone will pick a number, number one will pick the number one gift and number two can either pick the number two gift or take the gift from the previous person, and so on. After the last gift is done then the number one can do the final switcheroo or choose to keep their gift. Hopefully that was clear enough, if not come and find out how to play. We are hoping to get more members out than last year so plan on attending our fun events. If you have any questions please contact Rhonda Andrews 574-534-2768
2010: Looking ahead, now would be a good time for you to go over the Horse and Pony Handbook, Constitution and Bylaws, and the Survival Guide even though it was for 2009, many of the same articles will be in for 2010. There always seems to be a lot of confusion but if you read the material put in front of you then there would probably be less confusion. Most of the complaints we get are because people are unaware of something and 9times out of 10 its in print somewhere, so please read the material!
Helmets: Helmets will be strongly enforced for any 4-H member who is mounted on the Fairgrounds property this year. The helmet is to be buckled and on the 4-H member when mounted for any 4-H sponsored event so please don't make someone excuse you because you don't like to wear your helmet.
Dues: Advisory Board has ruled to raise dues for the 2010 year. The new due fee will be $15 for the first 2 members and $10 for each member after that. If you have any questions please feel free to contact anyone from the Advisory Board or a leader.
Volunteers: We are planning on doing Geranium sales for the 2010 fundraiser. This means we are looking for someone to take this on. If you are interested in heading this up for us please contact Mary Brookins 202-1140 or Rhonda Andrews 202-1292. We are still in need of several people to help with different events, Drill Team needs an assistant, Sirena McCulloch needs help with the Expo for 2010, Show help for 2010 season, concession help for 2010 season, there will be sign ups and papers out at each meeting for the help needed. The only way for our club to function is with the volunteers so please look at your schedules and plan on helping out this year.
If you would rather receive the newsletters by email, please email Rhonda at andrews906@verizon.net. If I get your email you will no longer receive it in your mailbox. The Extension office is starting to charge for each copy so we are trying to save the club some money for future events and things that are in the works. |
